PRP Therapy with Microneedling
The benefits of the "Vampire Facial" include wrinkle reduction, texture and tone improvement including a positive effect on hyper-pigmentation as well as on hypo-pigmentation, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks.
The Youth Tech "Vampire Facial" involves a nurse drawing a small amount of blood from your arm, centrifuging (spinning) the blood to separate out the plasma and platelets from the red blood cells, and then adding the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) back into your skin either topically and/or through injections.
For extra absorption of the PRP, the nurse or esthetician uses the MicroPen™ to create a series of precise, controlled epidermal and dermal micro-perforations.
Use of the MicroPen™ enhances the outcome, increasing total collagen and elastin production and accelerating healing. The idea behind blood facials is that they infuse the skin with platelets, containing growth factors, which in turn are known to be helpful in wound healing. The growth factors may stimulate new collagen growth in the face. Collagen is the protein in skin that keeps cheeks firm and taut. Cases involving more wrinkling or acne scarring may necessitate using some of the PRP for injecting directly into these more troublesome areas.
Varying needle depth settings on the MicroPen™ allow for a less or more aggressive treatment based on the individual patient skin conditions and desired results. Results can be seen over the course of several weeks and continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment.
The number of recommended treatments vary from 2 to 3 every 6-8 weeks up to 6 to 8 sessions every 6 weeks for more aggressive treatment.
