MIXTO FRACTIONAL C02 LASER
The MiXto Laser: Sophisticated Laser Treatment
Acne scarring presents quite a challenge to medical professionals. The condition is not easy to treat due to great variability in size, depth, color, shape and texture of scars. In the past, only very invasive laser equipment was available, which resulted in pain for the patient as well as considerable recovery time. Now, thanks to the advanced technology of the MiXto CO2 Fractional Laser, even the most severe cases can achieve excellent results with minimal downtime.
Inventors of the advanced MiXto laser technology discovered that a gentler, cooler laser treatment could work better than previous invasive methods for acne scarring. The specially engineered fractional acne scar treatment laser is now used to carefully vaporize only the most superficial layers of skin, revealing smoother layers below--while stimulating the production of new skin cells and collagen. Effective treatment requires individualized care from a skilled professional using the MiXto acne scar treatment laser. In just 30 min to 1 hour, the treatment session is completed.
Visible Results after One Treatment
Unsightly acne scars can be a blow to self-esteem, especially since they remain on the face and body even after acne has cleared. These scars can make enjoying a social occasion impossible and can even interfere with the success of important life events like career advancement or a job interview. At the very least, acne scars are annoying to look at in the mirror each morning. Thanks to advancements in medical technology, like MiXto laser treatment, visibly clearer, smoother skin is possible--skin is noticeably tightened and smoothed after one treatment.

A recent acne scar treatment study showed excellent results from MiXto CO2 laser treatment. In the study, patients rated treatment satisfaction at a level of 3.958 out of 4 (with 4 as the top possible score, highly satisfied) on average. Patients rated treatment discomfort as easily tolerable, giving treatment discomfort a score of 1.8 (easily tolerable) out of 5 (with 5 as highly painful). Your Treatment Process
Depending upon the level of scarring and the characteristics of individual scars, a customized treatment plan is designed. Comprehensive treatment may involve a range of treatments, including the MiXto Fractional Laser. Prior to your treatment session, your medical spa esthetician will apply topical anesthetic. Then laser energy is used to vaporize the top-most epidermal layers. Treatment takes about 30 minutes.
How It Feels
The spa often provides anesthetic to ensure that treatment sessions are comfortable. MiXto laser therapy requires little downtime, in contrast to other lasers. Your skin will appear sunburned post-treatment, with sunburn-type pain, reddened skin, mild skin swelling and itching. Ibuprofen can be used to ease symptoms after treatment and you may be prescribed an antibiotic to be taken for a week.
Post-treatment Continual Improvement
Your acne scar treatment laser session lasts approximately 1 hour. Afterward, your skin’s texture will continue to improve--as new cells and collagen plump and rejuvenate the skin--for the next six months after your MiXto laser treatment.
